Stiff Earbud wires

I only suffered from random stiffness when i was a young teenager... But I'm not too sure aside from using it a lot to keep it soft.

Not sure how to fix it but it's cause by the oils from your skin. Maybe cloth corded ear buds would work for you better? I have the same problem and that seemed to help a lot for me.
