Hello everyone,

So I have a pretty decent build, i5 4590, R9 390, etc... and am not satisfied. So, I created a custom water-cooling loop for it. Still not satisfied. So i was thinking of selling it and starting over. Ive only used it for about a week, but had it for longer. The total amount in USD of parts in this build adds up to around 1500 dollars, so I figured I could sell it for 1200-1300 dollars. My question: should I sell it and go for something like this:?

Original Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/rowanhazard/saved/#view=qjF7YJ

(don't actually have three CPU coolers, just simulating the price of the loop.)

Thanks,

Rowan

If you're selling it as a whole system, I'd expect something closer to $1000 or less. Despite it looking good and all, used, custom watercooled builds aren't really in high demand, as a lot of people do watercooling just for the process of it.

What do you mean by "not satisfied"?

Yea I'm the same way. I have upgraded almost everything on my rig and now am doing new cpu and case and then doing a loop. I try to do mine in stages. I don't think you'll get much more performance with what you have for most games unless your looking to go with 4K. If you are not expecting huge gains and going more for the project of it then have at it. Or maybe do a scratch build or a secondary system?

Maybe do more custom work and hardline tubing on the existing build. You're going to be spending $500 or more to go down the new build path.

I just built a system for a friend of a friend with very similar parts to what I want to upgrade to (1080, 6700k, Z170-A mobo from ASUS) and want it for myself lol.

I have a 4k monitor from earlier but I am only using 1080p with my 390. And what do you mean when you say scratch build? As in building the case as well? Because that wold also require getting new parts (unless I wanted to keep the old ones).

Yea don't your own case from scratch or mod something into one or a desk build.

I was thinking of a desk build...

But, I though making a case roughly the same size as an Xbox 1 with a plexi front so I could see the parts while keeping it portable.

That would be nice. Itx with 120mm rad cooling.

you have pictures of your current rig?

Yeah I have photos.

I don't have any photos of the PC with the loop in full blue color though. Sorry.

Yeah 120mm liquid cooled, ITX, althoughI really like the Z170-A from ASUS.

I was kind of disappointed at the price the MacBook brought but I always start my auctions low with no reserve and just let them sell. I have found I get the most out of it that way but run risk of not getting what I wanted. Also there's too much competition on eBay. You would be better if listing it on local Facebook groups:
