I am trying to clean up my file system on Windows 10. I hace an SSD C: drive, and an HDD I: drive. The I: drive is listed three times for some reason. I would like to remove the two listings under the "Desktop" listing and just have the "New Volume (I:)" listing. Please help me in cleaning up this mess.

Can you go to your downloads folder (something like "C:\Users\asand1\downloads" probably) and open "Properties" and show the "Location" tab?  I have a hunch :P

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Seems to me that the ones at the top part (the ones you want to remove) are the default locations for your downloads and documents. You definitely should have those point to the HDD instead of the SSD. Maybe not in the root, but still, the SSD is not for storing files. But if you really want it, right-click on it, and change the location on the 'Location' -tab. If you prefer. You can rename those to something else too. Navigate to C:\Users\[your user name]\ click a folder active and hit F2 to rename it.

I do want all my Docs and DLs to go to the HDD. I have renamed all the files, however there is no option for "location in the download properties.

Music properties, as well as all the other files have a location option and I have swithed them to I:\Users\aaron\Music etc.

Downloads does not have a locations tab.

So that move you did with the Music folder,... did you do the same thing with Downloads and Documents?  Because that's what it looks like.  It looks like the location on those were both set to just "I:\"

that's my guess :P

Those thing to the left are called libraries. They're like shortcuts to the actual folders. You're trying to set the location for the actual folder in your screenshots. Do that for the libraries. Right-click the I:\ with the down-pointing arrow and go from there.

On the other hand, you cannot rename a library. That you have to do to the actual folder.

Well just rightclick on the icon for Downloads in the side panel (one of the "duplicate I:\ entries") and look at the properties for it

They are not just libraries to folders, They look like duplicate libraries for the entire I drive.

Yeah so that explains it.  the reason you are seeing 3 "duplicates" is actually this: The first and second listings respectively are actually your downloads and documents folder, which, because they are set to reside at the root of I:\, have decided to change their names since the folder itself no longer exists.  The third entry for I:\ near your C:\ entry is actually the drive itself.

Is there a way to fix it? I also have the Docs and DLs folders in I:\Users\asand

You'll want to change the location of those folders to something like "I:\Users\aaron\Downloads", etc.

Ah, yes, I believe you may have to create the folder by hand first ... in certain situations.

Reinstalled Windows after backing up my personal files. I was more careful renaming the folders in moving them. Now I just have to figure out why my display is going rainbow static and "display drivers not responding and restarted".
