Asus PG279Q + PS4

My new build isn't gonna have any 5.25" bays so I'm looking at either an external bluray player or could just use the old PS4 to watch movies.

 

I'd really like to hear from someone who has actually driven this monitor with the PS4 over HDMI, specifically to watch blurays. Any scaling issues? Fuzziness?

Try it and see?

 

If your not happy, you could always transcode them to hdd and eliminate the need to swap media or as you say, use an external drive.

I can confirm that it works.

 

The problem is that if you happen to use an HDMI switch (I use it for XBONE, PS4, Wii U), most HDMI switch does not seem to work. So you will need to connect PS4 DIRECTLY to ASUS PG279Q.

Well if anyone else wonders, yup, it works amazingly. The experience is outstanding, I need not have worried.

 

As an aside, this monitor is the bees knees.
