Bear with me for i am new to PC architecture.
I recently had a kernel power issue and removed one of my two 4 GB ram sticks, now its fixed and I'm left with 4GB RAM.
I game frequently and i recently played Witcher 3 on my pc with 4 GB of RAM (minimum requirement 6gb RAM for the Game)
whenever i played Witcher 3 the pc would shut down suddenly. other games with lower RAM Requirements didn't show any such "kernel power errors" and there were no crashes.
Now my question....

Is it because of the RAM being 4 gigs as compared to the required 6 gigs, that my pc crashes?

Like for games like middle earth shadow of mordor its 3gb minimum and dark souls its 4 so i dont face any issues. so is it related to being under the minimum requirements. My PC is new and spent all my savings on it any help appreciated.

I would put the full 8gb in and run memtest86 to see if the ram is faulty.

Assuming you have a page file enabled running out of RAM shouldn't crash anything.... it will just grind the whole machine to a halt
