800$ budget PC

Friend is looking to get a PC to play competitive TF2 (he currently plays on a Mac :()and I'm been told to design him a PC. I've got a fairly good idea of the PC but I figured the forum knows a lot and like to spec out PCs. The only requirement is a 1080p 144hz monitor and a GPU capable of driving TF2 at that speed. Preferred triple AAA titals at 60hz. So 960/380 and up. Have fun ;)

1080p, 144Fps TF2 and 60+ fps on any other game. Am I correct in assuming that?

Does he need peripherals and OS? Or only the tower and monitor?

Only tower and monitor, he's gonna use what he already has for peripherals.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/h4WCm8 This is a bit over, if he can't spend the extra, get rid of the HDD and he can buy one later.

I like it, fairly similar to what I picked out. Thanks!

@slap_shot18 I've seen people come up with i5+R9 380 in $500 budget. So that could happen however I think people will skip over monitor requirement and post $800 builds :/

I would suggest Benq XL2411Z $250) as it has great feedback from players. Of course there are cheaper ones ($200)

He'll need a 144hz monitor for competitive TF2 gaming. Nice build though!
