Who else has noticed the bad-assery that is the soundtrack to Doom?

I'm 36 years old so I was a teen with the family's 486sx when Doom 1 and 2 were around. I had #1 on four floppies and #2 on CD. I played them a lot... mods and all. #3 was beyond my reach a decade ago because I didn't have a capable computer or an Xbox.  So now here I am with a 980ti and a Skylake system so I jumped on that bitch after I beat Uncharted 4 (first things first).

The game is amazing and has plenty of throwbacks to the originals... but the soundtrack is phenomenal. I've searched online to buy it somewhere but had no luck. I did, however, find some one on YouTube with a 45-track playlist.  I'd say his name so you can check it out... but maybe that's considered promoting. You can find it easily I'm sure.

The ambient tracks are intense and looming, and the action tracks are brootal and shredding.  So good. So good.  And if you have big bass in your sound system, crank that fucker.

This is game is definitely as good as Uncharted, but for completely different reasons that surely made it worth the $48.

you can link to youtube as long as it isn't your own stuff for the sake of promoting your own stuff.

Also, if you bought the game, you should be able to listen to the music from the game files for personal use.  Just don't go posting them around somewhere :P

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

That's a good idea to check the installation folder for the files.  I hadn't thought of that.  But I just looked and they aren't anything that's usable. It looks like they're embedded into the program files.

The new Doom singelplayer nailed so many things including the soundtrack. They took what made Doom great back then, what makes Brutal doom great now and brought all that to more modern game design. And that 100% also goes for the soundtrack. From combat to ambient to every mission end screen making you feel like a real bad ass space marine.
