HP Mini 210 Problems

Hello guys

I recently was given a HP mini 210-1051VU that originally wouldn't boot up or show the HP logo, It would just show a " _ " character, unplugging the battery it would then boot and show the HP logo, I had then tried a system restore, disk checker and a memory test but it would just suddenly shut down during those. When I was able to boot into Windows 7 Starter, It would briefly show the desktop and then a white popup would show up saying "jm theyj". I am open to any suggestions or help. Thanks!
