Greetings everyone

I was wondering whether there are any comparatively fast spinning drives other than the usual ones. I have a SSD as a boot drive with all the applications installed in it but i keep my work files(Photoshop, Autocad, SketchUp) in my HDD. I might not need more than 1TB. Even 500GB will do the job.

Keep it simple.

If you want to go ham: Link (Bare(cables not included))

But at that i would suggest an SSD: Link or even the 1TB version for $319

And if you have an M.2 slot: Link (Slight overkill)

| CPU: Core i7-3820 clocked to 4.3Ghz  |  Motherboard: Alienware 07JNH0  |  CPU Cooler: AIO Alienware liqud cooler |

| GPU: GTX 670 |  RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB(8x2) + 2x2 Shitty Alienware RAM  |

| Display: LG D2342, Flatron M1717A | StorageSamsung 850 Evo 120GB,1TB WD Caviar Blue, 500GB WD Green

Ohk, but less than 1TB and HDD...

Keep it simple.

The velociraptor is one of if not the fastest HDD so i would just recommend to stick with standard 7200RPM drives(Link) or go for ssd's.

WD Black looks good for this job. Just one thing WD Blacks are better than Greens, right?

Keep it simple.

"Green: Slowest, quietest, lowest power

Blue: Standard drive

Black: Performance tuned, faster, potentially noisier and more power hungry"

But if your work doesn't require you to transfer fast from drive to drive i would reccomend Green

I just need a single small size but fast drive where i can store and work in that drive. No need for transfering from HDD to HDD. I'm currently using a WD Green.

Keep it simple.

Well if you think that later you'll need a bigger drive buy a big one to save yourself time by not copying from drive to drive if you bought a smaller one and was think of buying another one

My plan was to buy a small fast HDD for now and then get a big one for Off-site storage like a back-up drive...

Keep it simple.
