So basically I've made this "decent" PC build on pcpartspicker.com,And i'd like to know what it can do. Questions : Can this build run The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt,At lets say High+ (Without FPS Drops,30FPS+)? And can it run ARK Survival Evolved at a pretty good graphics quality (Without FPS Drops,Medium Quality/Epic Quality/High Quality)? And also can i use it for programming and rendering,I want to be able to use this build with Visual Studio while running Unreal Engine 4 so I can make games uninterrupted. Posted May 23, 2016 No SSD? Why purchase a $200 MB? Why get a 980ti and not a 1080? Why 4x4 RAM and not 2x8? PSU is overkill but good wattage for SLI. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Jzqqqk $70 cheaper with an SSD [CPU: 4.7ghz I5 6600k] [MB: Asus Z170 Pro G] [RAM: G.Skill 2400 16GB(2x8)] [GPU: MSI Twin Frozr GTX 970] [PSU: XFX Pro 850W] [Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo][Storage: 500GB WD HDD / 128GB SanDisk SSD ] [Case: DeepCool Tessaract] [Keyboard: AZIO MGK1] [Mouse: Logitech G303] [Monitor: 2 x Acer 23" 1080p IPS] Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/600151-pc-build-performance-information-required-please/#findComment-7787825 Share on other sites
 Posted May 23, 2016 1. Include a SSD. Probs a Samsung 850 EVO-series will do. 2. Your PSU should be enough to power your system (you can get a much more powerful one if you want to expand your computer) 3. Wait for the 1080 because it's much better for the cost and also, might allow you to use a weaker PSU. Or you can get 2 1070s and SLI Bridge them. 4. I suggest a 2x8 ram, not 4x4. Better to add more later if needed. The SSD will allow for much faster boot and load times of programs. A huge difference between disk drives. The Asus Pro Gaming like I suggested is an option on Scanmalta. Can you find a cheaper, and better alternative from either scanmalta.com or ultramalta.com? THANKS FOR THE REPLIES! On PCPP, it shows as 4x4 for the RAM Yes, if you are building in this budget, you owe it to yourself to get an SSD, if you don't know what it's like to have one yet, then it will make all the more worth while. You can get an external CD read/writer and not bork the appearal of your case. The GTX 1080 comes out in 5 days $200 MB's are kinda overkill, you can get a better option, for cheaper, without skimping out on features. Your welcome. But it's a bit more pricier because of the peripherals and stuff. -> https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/600151-pc-build-performance-information-required-please/#findComment-7787892 Share on other sites
 Can you find a cheaper, and better alternative from either scanmalta.com or ultramalta.com? THANKS FOR THE REPLIES! The website told us it's 4x4 SSD's dramatically increase your boot times. After getting a 500gb SSD, I also went with a SSHD. For speed CD, just get one that you can plug in & out of your computer. One of those USB ones. Nice choice, GTX 1080 or 2X 1070s for the win! I don't really know what to respond to the last one so ya. Posted May 23, 2016 Author Thanks for the replies,But one question. Can you answer me about the performance for the "Witcher 3" and "Ark Survival EVOLVED"? Ill see what i can fit into my build,Hopefully an SSD or a Hybrid. And probably a new graphics card. Avoid V300 SSD's, AData SP550 SSD's are low budget brawlers that will do you proud if you want a cheap SSD, Intel 850 Evo is the fastest thing on the market for SATA SSD's, you can get one, but it'll be more expensive. As for the performance, I have no idea, I mean, you should be able to max out the graphics on Witcher 3 and play 1080p at 60fps, but that's all I got.
