Hey guys,

I have been building computers for the last 20 years and for the first time ever i encountered a problem that i just can't fix it seems.

My problem :

The moment i connect a gamepad with usb my computer just goes totally crazy in game....

On desktop no problem sometimes but in game it goes totally wrong.

My cpu(i7 4770k oc to 4.4ghz) goes up to 100 and memory usage does the same thing.

I tried both with my xbox one gamepad and a ps4 gamepad same results.

I tried using my usb ports in the back and the front same results.

In game for example fifa or any other like the crew or anything else my fps goes from 144 and slowly within a few minutes go down to 10 fps.

I checked the drivers for my motherboard(maximus hero VI) and there all fine

I also checked the drivers for the gamepads and again no trouble there.

I also tried to go back from windows 10 to windows 8.1 and after awhile same problems started to show.

What makes it even weirder is when i switch fullscreen and window mode in game(alt-enter) it solves it for about 1 minute and it starts again.

Also what is weird sometimes while switching screens the sound will fall away from the game wat will solve the issue and i'm back at 144fps or above.

After checking all the ports, drivers and knowing what it fixes sometimes and what parts are affected i just can't figure it out anymore.

Hope you can guys can help.

Greetings Kris

Does it do the same without overclocks and how many games have you found that do this?I would try reinstalling the drivers for your controller.

Alternatively you could try this fix: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3stmh1/psa_you_can_fix_the_high_ram_usage_issue_caused/

I had a friend who would have a similar issue where his ram usage would hit 100% and his framerates would tank just like yours so it's worth a shot. Next time it happens check in processes to see what is using up all the cpu/ram.

CPU - Ryzen Threadripper 2950X | Motherboard - X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC | RAM - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8GB DDR4-3200 14-13-13-21 | GPU - Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Edition | Case - Inwin 909 (Silver) | Storage - Samsung 950 Pro 500GB, Samsung 970 Evo 500GB, Samsung 840 Evo 500GB, HGST DeskStar 6TB, WD Black 2TB | PSU - Corsair AX1600i | Display - DELL ULTRASHARP U3415W |
