So I posted a topic in the troubleshooting section but it seems like no one knows why my motherboard is giving out a VGA_ERROR Led when I had my 980Ti installed in the 2nd gold PCI-E slot on the Asus z87-WS motherboard.

I never had this issue with my Asus STRIX R9 390 or Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury but with these past two 980Ti's I have had that is when the issue started.

According to Asus Customer support, it isn't the motherboard but probably the brand 980Ti I purchased causing the issue.

I have the Zotac AMP! 980Ti.

Not sure why the brand has anything to do with it but I already replaced the 980Ti Twice.

So what do you guys think?

Let me know!

Thanks

Sounds wierd. Try a BIOS reset of maybe another slot on your MOBO.

1st slot works fine but I can't set the gpu in correctly due to the back plate being tall and it hitting the audio enclosure and the bottom ram slot clips.

I updated the bios and it changed nothing..

Its pretty rare but sometimes there can be vendor incompatibility. I'm not 100% sure that is the issue though. You said you updated your bios already which usually resolves such issues. Asus makes pretty good boards too so I wouldn't think that would be it but idk. Sorry this probably isn't too helpful, maybe try another vendor video card if you can.

Well the problem is Asus thinks its the vendor card (Zotac) and Zotac thinks its the Asus motherboard and its PCI-E layout and specifications.

So I honestly don't know anymore..
