Hi guys,

I have a few files in excel that have password to open ! Even view

I was wondering if anyone has tried a software brute-force solution that actually works !!

Do have list of words , of which i think the password is made of !

They are xls files hence i assume something can be managed?

Googling gives me so many options and i am sure most of them are malwares :D

Anyone has had any luck before? Else i would just make a VM and try all one by one !

Just to be clear, are these your files that you've forgotten the password to, or files that you have obtained from other sources?

I had made a few excel files which had passwords made from weird logic, as in words in relation to the document ! Since i know these words, i think it shouldnt take much time. Like Eg. the words in relation are apple and orange. I just need to ry every combination of all the characters.

Also, Yes The files are mine.

OclHashcat would be the best bet as it supports MS Office formats as well as parallel multi GPU compute.

Thanks for the software info.Indeed looks nice. Will try this.
