Any Wireless Displays?

I was wondering if anyone knew of anything like a small wireless, portable monitor? I basically need something that I can carry around to other rooms of my house. It doesn't need to have the best resolution or anything. Just needs to be small enough to carry, and be able to somehow connect to my computer without stretching a giant hdmi cable across my house to work. Does such a thing exist?

Just FYI wireless HDMI exists and can be used with any monitor

there are small probable USB powered monitors too (although youd need a usb cable obv)

Or you could get a cheap laptop and use remote desktop

Do you know how well wireless hdmi works? and whats its range? Also could you use some kind of wireless usb hub for a USB monitor?

 

edit: I tried remote desktop on an old laptop I had, SOOO many problems with that program lol.

Works fine, depends on which you go for as to range etc dunno what you want to spend

What exactly are you trying to achieve with this?

It would need to transmit down one floor in another room of my house. Dunno if it would have problems transmitting through a floor and wall. What I'm trying to achieve is just to be able to access my computer from other rooms in my house. Just need a way of getting a wireless connection from the room my computer is in, to a screen and peripherals elsewhere. And yea, I gave up on remote desktop due to all the problems. I mean it technically it connected, I was able to see my desktop but I was getting all sorts of weird stuff happening like random graphics glitches, arrow keys and f2 to f7 not working at all, mouse started moving on its own. Just not a viable option...

if i can stream GTA V to an intel Atom, then you can stream your PC to a laptop

Ok so if not remote desktop what would you suggest as a "modern streaming solution"? I'm open to trying other software to make this work, although I don't think its going to be the best solution really regardless because of how old and crappy the laptop is. All the laptop does is just add a bunch of points of failure. Surely there must be some wireless solution for a monitor and peripherals that has the range to go through a wall and floor of a house?

 

edit: Also tried team viewer and had similar weird problems fyi

This stuff doesn't really exist because nobody has a use for it, if somebody wanted a portable machine they would just use a laptop

if you wanna play games over your network you use steam in home streaming

if you want to access a PC away from the desk you use remote desktop software

Well that might work for the monitor, do you think it would get through a wall and floor though with a 23 foot range? I'm thinking I might be able to get away with using a wireless USB hub for peripherals if I can find one with good range. I understand this isn't a typical request but I DO have a use for this. I don't need a portable machine, I have a desktop that works just fine, that also has all my programs, my files, ect... I'm not wanting to just game over the network(or atleast thats not the primary thing I would be doing), and both teamviewer, and remote desktop connection were completely unusable due to all the graphical glitches and keys not working...

that is not a normal experience just FYI, so maybe I would look into that

 

I remote into my server almost every day, I use remote desktop software at work, I also have used parallels to remote desktop into my PC from my iPad

 

For me every key works, i can run every program in real time with no issues etc - which is what should happen

I am saying it works well for everyone except you, so clearly something is wrong on your end, seems silly spending money when it should work

but yeah, there are ways around it with a few products but depends if that solution really works for you or not
