Hey guys!

I just wanted some insight, I'm planning on building my first PC in September 2016. I am an architecture student so I will be doing a lot of 3D Modelling and rendering. I also want to use it for some gaming (however modelling and rendering are the priority). My budget is around 3000-3400 US dollars for the PC only.

Let me know what you think and thanks in advance!

start planning around august, tech keeps changing this year so its best to plan your build as near the date of purchase as possible

and you dont need $3000 `-` about $2000 will get you a very good pc

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

You'll need cores, threads loads of memory, ssd's in raid 0, some harddisks maybe, cardreaders, dvdburner and a gpu of your choosing. I think a system based on the 2011-3 socket should be what you are looking for but read up for your self in the pdf document below (solid works is 3dcad mechanical engineering software).
