Input lag - making me crazy

Hi.

 

I'm having this problem for a few weeks now and i'm going crazy but I don't have time (/don't want to) reinstall windows.

The lag is not always there, when I reboot its fine, but after some time, every few seconds I get a ~1.5 second lag.

Both my wired and wireless keyboard suffer from the lag, the mouse works fine (I can move the mouse during the lag).

 

Anyone else having this?

Any tips? (already tried connecting to different USB inputs)

while writing this I noticed that it doesn't happen when I'm using a linux VM so it's most likely a software issue...

check task manager to see whats going on when the lag occurs

maybe the cpu or disk usage is at 100%

 

also, scan your computer with malwarebytes and antivirus just to be safe

Nothing is using 100%...

I use ESET Internet security (fully patched ofcourse). tried to turn it off, didn't help.

Also, the chances that I have a virus is highly unlikely. I do not use pirated software or games, I buy what I want, and I'm not using torrent or downloading unknown files. I use a VM if I think a file is even close to suspicious.
