Okay recently built this pc like three months ago, everything going great. Woke up a few hours ago to do some gaming before work and not 30 mins into turning it on the computer slows downs really slow. Find out cpu temp is 95 c.. Celsius !!! Wtf. Shut it down immidiately started running my electric can of air to get some air over it to cool it down. I was afraid my predator 240 had failed or leak but the rubber pipe lead hot water away from the cpu was just as hot as the cpu so it's working it's ass off. I have unplugged my pc and I'm letting it cool now off the plug and everything. I don't know where to go from here. It was peed at 93 c at bios last time I checked

Check if pump/fans are getting power.
Maybe your pump died ?

Ive checked the predator 240 it is returning cool water to the cpu and running hot hot water through the radiator. Its my 5820k that is freaking out for some reason. Im just hoping it hasn't damaged itself from the heat. I actually didn't even game today. All I did was update some steam games and watch a YouTube video to get that hot

you wont be using a revison 1 msi board would you ? if you are check the voltage offset it can go to 12v on auto , it might have bump'd the voltages up stupid high .

Not overclocked at all and screws just as tight as the day I placed it in with proper cpu paste applied. It's cooled down now so I'm gonna boot to bios to see if it's gonna start climbing again

yea you have a problem  pull the cooler off the cpu then redo the cooler install  and see if its better  my 5820k with a OC is only at 40c but its under half load atm so probably 30c is my idle

Normally my cpu in Bios would be like 30 to 35 but this is ridiculous. Sadly I'm out of time for doing this since I have to go to work but I'll be let it cool and try it when I get home later. If it still climbs I'm redoing all the cpu cooling and mounting

yea when you get home take the block off the cpu and clean and reseat it check to see if your hitting any MB components around the cpu socket. then install it .you either got a bad seating on the cpu+block or the heat spreader on the chip between the die and the cooler went bad somehow

If it's a bad chip under the dye you think I could get it returned after about 2 months?

that led readout its for codes when it boots. it might do temp readout once its booted but mine only displays codes for the pc to see if it works correctly or not  , and most MB do the same its just readout error /system codes . saw your video check your bios to see if you see the pump listed in it since you did connect the 4 pin to the cpu fan header ?  would be listed under cpu fan or cpufan opt should be around 1500-3000rpm  . also the mini circuit board on the AIO see if all the wires are connected still and nothing fried .

with the pump the quickest way  to test if it is that turn off all  fans so you got nothing but the AIO pump running  touch the side where it is which has the tubes then iif you feel a vibrates then its on . if there isnt a vibration then  it failed or power ant getting to it . only do this for a few mins since your temps are high already . you can disconnect the power to the pump and see if it goes away if it does then the pump is running .

contact ekwb their was a problem with the units having bad o-rings i hope you had one that wasn't effected or got the fix version . if you have one of the bad units most likely your coolant drained out . but that's easy to check pull it out of your case and see if it has any in it there is a fill port on the top of the unit you have to pull it out of the case to check if their is fluid in the mini res it has then thats out as the cause. when you do this check the pcb connectors that they are food .

with your bios nothing can run for program wise . only whats in the bios runs if your not booted into windows ect thats just your cpu pumping heat

and that's a no on the return if the integrated heat spreader is shit intel for the most part doesn't care. thats why i beat the shit out of my 5820k when i got it if it can take prime95 for 48hours then its fine for a few years of abuse

Wow this is extensive. I'm going through this now that I'm off work to see if the pumps a goner. This is literally exactly what I needed to know! Thank you, I'll be posting what comes of all this
