Hey guys! I  would like to know if the Gigabyte GA-Z170 is a good motherboard for these specs:

Processor: Intel i5-4590 3.3 GHz (not unlocked)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance black 8GB 2133MHz (DDR4)

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA III 64MB Cache 3.5"

If anyone knows a better motherboard for these specs that is around the same price range, can you please let me know?

Thanks in advance!

You cannot use that processor with that motherboard. The board is socket LGA 1151 and that processor is LGA 1150.

Unfortunately can't help with South Africa. I have no idea what prices are there. I'm sure someone else could help you out though.

OK, may I ask why a Z series motherboard? Maybe there's a H110/H170/B150 that fits your needs. I'm asking because you're going with a non-K CPU

He actually meant the K. We went over this in another thread about 30 minutes ago.

Oh ok then

also @Telebubbies

What's the specific model of Z170 gigabyte mb, because I'm looking at some sites from there and Z170 starts somewhere below your budget, thought from gigabyte's side found this:

http://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte-ga-z170xp-sli-intel-z170-chipset-lga1151-skylake-atx-desktop-motherboard.html

At least according to google 200 USD = ~2900 ZAR :P

it's Z170, has M2, Sata express, dual 3.0 USB headers, even SLI support, etc...

Right now I was looking at this one:

http://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte-ga-z170-hd3-intel-z170-chipset-lga1151-skylake-atx-desktop-motherboard.html

It is like $30 cheaper and I hardly see any differences..

It's ok too

Differences are: No SLI support, and the other one has better power delivery and an additional PCI-e x16 slot(though running at x4, so mainly it's purpose is 3 way crossfire or PCIe SSD)

I am only going to use 1 graphics card.. So no need for that. :)

I will get the one that I said and get the i5 6600k.

What do you think?
