I've been running into this issue lately. whenever i leave my pc for sometime it goes to sleep (which is normal), but when i return and move my mouse or press a key it doesnt wake up. neither does it power on when i push the power button. my only solution is to turn off and on the main power switch at my wall socket but this leads to the message  "Power supply surges detected during the previous power on.
Asus Anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit!
Press F1 to Run Setup"
this all started ever since i added 2 fans and a LS01 light strip but i dont see how this could have affected my system since it can still power on just not wake up. what could be the issue?? is my psu faulty?

Way back I had a AlienWare x51 and it had a 330W PSU and everyone on the forms told me not to add a GTX 970 3GB GDDR5 because it could not handle. But they were wrong! (I got rid of the alienware and Now I have a SuperComputer)

But my monitor wouldn't wake up turned out to be the cable was blocking one of the fans causing it overheat/had a similar issue to yours....

Any ways. Being that your system doesnt power on it could be things such as faulty Ram/Ram modules are bad because in my later build I had a power issue and it turned out to be a bad ram because the board automatically powered it self off if I left it on for long period of time. I would try trouble shooting with the pieces that will be most easy. But what the Wattage of the PSU?

Maybe try disconnecting the Graphics card (if its not water cooled) and setting aside before you sleep and see if in the morning if the computer is still on to see if the PSU is still at fault if so, I would look into replacing the PSU.

Maybe you are getting power surges? Get a surge protector.

Hmm but I'm using a power strip so I would've thought that the entire build, monitor and speakers would power down in the event of a power surge? And would power surges be so systematic and unrandom?

Power surges don't always cause everything to power down I guess.
