Hey guys I just built a new pc. Everything was working great and I even installed windows. But I then plugged in a new fan. When I plugged in the extra fan, and put in the plug the computer turned on right away without even clicking the power. But the CPU fan wasn't spinning ,but the fans were. The two fans were also spinning with the hard drive. In addition every led was blinking on and off. The next day I plugged in the second CPU power cable, and re plugged in the GPU. And it magically started working again. What ended up happening is that some games like days, rust, and H1Z1. Have quick but worry inducing lag spikes out of nowhere. But games that are not in alpha like Mechwarrior online work fine but occasionally have spikes. I don't know what is going on ,and I also want to plug in the extra which I took out. But I am afraid to do anything because of this crazy situation.

Don't know what ram I have but I am buying new set soon

your build looks fine with exception of the power supply, the cx series are like the lowest tier of psu's you can buy, but that being said, it should be more than enough for your build.

i did have something like that situation before on one of my other builds and never found out why, i had just inistalled a new gpu(gts 450) and after i plugged it in it was like a surge went through my pc, it turned out to be my psu, it was a diablotek el cheapo 450, after i changed to a evga 500b, i never had any problems. i don't know if its the same problem.

if you do decide to plug in the fan i would recommend using a different fan header, other than that 500w should be more than enough for what you are running.

sorry wish i could help out more but an suggestions other than trying out a new power supply might screw up your pc more.

So should I not worry about , and then my next upgrade should be a PSU?

Also what is the fan header. If you are talking about something on the motherboard  then I  don't know where that is. I would also like to add that should I just wait to get a new power supply?

PS: it shouldn't be my GPU right? Because the thing is pretty good.

nvm i guess that fan connects direct to the psu, i doubt its your gpu, unless you are overclocking it, do you you have msi afterburner to check the temps or any kind of app to monitor temps?
