Help for nice programming/gaming laptop

Hey!!

I'm in the process of finding the right setup for my future college laptop.

I found this website with an interresting case: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/octaneII-17/

This is were I need you awesome guys.

I've got a max. budget of 2000€ and I can buy it from France or theUK.

I have two major goals for this laptop:

  1. Programming
This means I'd like to have quite a bit of storage (dual boot etc...) -> HDD+SSD eventually

  2. Gaming
I'd also like to game sometimes. This is why I don't simply want a notebook etc. (Battlefront, GTA,...)
Maybe not in ultra but It would be nice to run them smoothly.

  3. Non negociable
    17" screen
    Good keyboard

So what setup would you recommend? Or do you know of other good latops etc?

Thank you so much,

I know that you will not decieve me.

Look at Sager Notebooks, because they have the storage options you want and the gaming power you need. They should handle the EU (France/UK) just fine.

Thanks, I'll have a look. But what would you recommend spec wise?

Hey everyone,

I also am currently looking for a new gaming notebook. But I am not quite sure how much I should spend on the GPU. The thing is, that I mostly like to play not as demanding games like League of Legends oder CSgo, but from time to time I enjoy single player games like the witcher or tombraider. Am I correct in the assumption, that if I want to play those games at high settings I at least need a GTX 970m? I'd also like this laptop to last about 3 years, and not just survive, but be able to play games like that at least at medium settings.

So the first question I'm getting at is if a gtx970m is the right card for me.

Secondly, most of the high end gaming laptops feature i7 CPUs. Am I correct in the assumption that for gaming and multimedia purposes an i5 cpu would be enough? For example an i5 6600 v an i7 6700.

Lastly, has anyone experiences with schenker XMG laptops?

Any help is very welcome :)

Ps: I'm from Germany, if that is of any use to anyone
