I'm currently trying to decide which motherboard I should go for with the PC that I am planning on building.

These are the two motherboards that I am looking at. I was leaning towards the Asus due to it meeting my colour scheme aswell as it having better reviews on PC Partpicker, however I cant really tell the difference between them and the MSI is £35 (around $50) cheaper where I live.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/asus-motherboard-z170a,msi-motherboard-z170apcmate/

The build that I am going with is, http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qLhyD3

I will mainly be using the PC for gaming and also some animation plus rendering work

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey, the motherboards are fairly similar in features, but the MSI motherboard does not support SLI, meaning that you will not be able to use multiple GPU's with it. If you wanted to in the future, you would need to upgrade. The ASUS one also supports a slightly higher RAM speed, but that doesn't matter much at all.

Basically, if you want to ever run two graphics cards in the future, go with the ASUS, but otherwise, go with the MSI. That way you won't be paying 35 pounds more for features you wont use.

First, pcpartpicker reviews dont mean crap. The ASUS board is obviously higher quality and will be better for overclocking. It seems like you have the budget so I would say to get the ASUS board, because why not? If you want to save a few bucks then get the MSI motherboard. I dont really see any specs you will miss out on(pcpartpicker doesn't list everything).
