My mainstream system build!

Hey there, I just want to let you know about my system, it's my first complete build.

As i was getting older, the (old) pc I got from my parents started to suck more and more (it didn't even run minecraft properly) So I decided to upgrade. At first I thought that just upgrading my Graphicscard would do the trick for me, unfortunately was that not the case. Three of my four RAM slots stopped working, with 2GB of RAM, my system didn't work properly at all. So after a month I got 18 and I got the money to fully upgrade my system.

Specs:

CPU: Intel i7 3770k (overclocked to 4.4Ghz)

CPU Cooler: Scythe Mine 2

RAM: Corsair vengeance DDR3 2x4GB at 1600 MHz

Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Pro4-M

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 OC Version

SSD: Samsung 830 Series 128GB

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

PSU: XFX Pro 550W

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus

Peripherals:

Monitor: LG Flatron IPS224 (21.1'')

Keyboard: Corsair K90

Mouse: Roccat Kova+

Soundcard: Creative SoundBlaster HD

Sound: Some older sony receiver and two 'pretty good' speakers, nothing special.

What I have to say about my rig:

I know that the GPU isn't in rate with the rest of my build, I'm planning on buying another 7770 and putting them in crossfire, that should be good enough for my needs as I am not a hardcore gamer or anything.

I'm also planning on buying another case as i don't like the look of my current case (Zalman Z77).

nice computer you got there, what do you currently score on 3dmark11? Looking forward to more pictures :)
Thanks! In what tests do you mean? Performance on full 3dmark experience fullscreen?

That score is P4833

You really should of gotten a 3570k and put the extra money into a better gpu

or a better psu because a 550W is nowhere near enough for crossfire

in fact 550W is about the bare minimum required to run your current setup as is

3770k, Asrock Extreme 4, 16GB Dominator Plat, AX760i, 250GB BX100, 1.5TB Seagate, Win 7 Home Prem

Yeah, I know, I would have done it else if I had bought the components at the same time. And as i said, I'm not a hardcore gamer so I don't really care if I can run BF3 on ultra settings or anything...

Nice clean build man. Don't worry about your 7770, she will serve you just fine. A second will be baller. I have just replaced two xfx 5770's I have had running for the last 3 years in eyefinity and they were still going strong. Overclock them a little and they will carry you through another two generations of cards too.

no. slightly different. the HD5770's next in line was the 6870, and then the 7870. The predecessor to the hd7770 is the 6770 and the 5670

Ah okay, didn't know that, thanks for explaining!

Ps, are you still running the 5770? if yes, how does it run modern games?

Luuk.

You don't like the looks of the Zalman Z11? I love mine O.o Granted it could be improved on, like wise with almost all cases :P
The case looks pretty good, it's just the two blobs on the sides that are some kond of housing for the HDD fans, however I did replace the fans with the LED's with plain black ones, Don't really like Fans with LED's:)

Thanks for the info! About the overclocking, they are already the OC version of Sapphire, I overclocked them another little bit to 1155mhz, that was the most reliable overclock i could get;) Cant wait for the day that i have enough money to buy a second one!

Looks nice, though that cooler seems as though it stands out quite a bit haha. The thing takes up like half of the space.
Yeah, true, my pc is under my desk so i dont have to look at it, if you look through the window youi only see the cooler, not so nice:P

Haha ya but it's not all about looks. If the thing keeps your CPU nice and cool then it's all good.

That were my thoughts too! i think because of the massive amount of 'fin-area' this cooler is one of the best air coolers out there, even though i'ts not as nice looking...
