Hi

First off this is my very first post so forgive me if I have posted this thread in the wrong place since this is a laptop related question I figured this is the best place to post this thread

So I have an HP Pavilion 15-p077tx Notebook I have been using for about a year now I mostly use it for gaming now I know I could have built a gaming pc and that would have been much better I agree but where I live we have constant power outages once every 2-3 hours the power goes out for about 1 hour daily and it gets worse in the summer so a laptop was an ideal choice since I can safely close my games and watch a movie or something while the power is gone anyways moving on the to question recently I have been noticing a sudden rise in temperature in my  laptop while under gaming load and Its concerning since the temperatures can easily go well over 80*C and settles at around 85*C-90*C first the processor rises up and then follows the motherboard and both settles around the same temperature's as I mentioned the graphics card and the storage drive are both staying fairly cool compared to the processor and the motherboard the graphic card settles around at 65-70*C and the storage is at around 40-50*C.

The fan is working its blowing hot air out and everything that its supposed to do the ambient temperature is at around 25-28*C now adays

so I guess what I want to know is it ok for my laptop to go this high temperature wise? Will it cause any permanent damage to my laptop if I continue to play games on it while its running on these temperature's?

and Do I need to open it up and clean it out?but you see this laptop isn't even a year old It shouldn't be having dust issues should it?I mean I live in a clean environment

And I did try looking it up and searched the internet but all i could get was each laptop/Computer has its own limits and I tried looking for mine but came up empty finally I remembered that this forum exists and maybe someone on here might be able to help me out or has some experience with this kind of issue

Finally this is the link to my laptop specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04345345

At fist: Yes you should cleaning your laptop if you have some know how and maybe with the use of some YT videos it's not that hard. But I see that you cant get to the fans by simply open up the service cover, so you should inform yourself if a cleaning may cause a warranty void

Apart from this modern Laptops shouldn't kill themself if they run that hot (thermal throtteling or a shutdown by te system itself prevent you from that). BUT heat and electronics is always a problem, constant heat will reduce the lifetime from your Laptop.

Temps from 70-80°C shouldn't harm that much.

I read online that the Pavilion series like it to have much room between the ground and the Fans, you may try to ad some extra space if it run hot.
