Best gaming monitor under €370.

Jos0109
Go to solution Solved by Jos0109,

I've decided to buy the BenQ XL2411Z in the end. Going to order it later tonight.  About the colors, reviews say this monitors has pretty good colors after tweaking with the settings a bit. And from what I've seen on forums, people tend to like the Benq more than the Asus VG248QE
Thanks for everything!!!   :)

I'm going to build a new PC this week but I need a new monitor to go with it. When I was surfing on the interwebs I couldn't really decide what monitor I should buy.
What monitor would you buy in my position? Under €370.

Dell Ultrasharp U2515H http://www.amazon.co.uk/DELL-U2515H-ADZG-25-Inch-Monitor/dp/B00P6O3YYO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459372361&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+u2515h

Review: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2515h.htm

I dont think LoL is gonna benefit much from 144hz since its a top down game and with such high end specs you should be able to power 1440p.

In tomb raider you might have to turn down some settings tho or upscale from 1080p.

If you can use newegg then these are great choices.

Acer XG270HU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009769

LG 29UM67 (refurbished) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824025231&cm_re=LG_29UM67-_-24-025-231-_-Product

I found a review on that monitor, apparently has a lot of ghosting if you use freesync, might have been patched by now but not sure (review posted 2015-04-22).

Also have poor viewing angles :/

Pros

Cons

Excellent response times, high refresh rate support and low lag for gaming

Restrictive viewing angles of TN Film technology

Flicker free backlight

Missing a blur reduction mode which competing screens offer

FreeSync support will be very useful once overdrive issue fixed. No cost overhead for providing FreeSync either

Limited stand and ergonomics

Full review: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xg270hu.htm

PROS: 144Hz • FreeSync • Contrast • QHD resolution • Out-of-box color • Value

CONS: No height, swivel or portrait adjustment • No USB ports • TN panel

I've read a lot of forums aout whether or not league of legends benefits from a 144hz monitor and a lot of people said that it helped them a lot. So if you can, please include monitors with 144hz.

This one got awarded with "Good Product" by the same swedish website.

http://www.sweclockers.com/test/21454-aoc-g2460pf-amd-freesync-med-144-hz-i-instegsklassen/9#content

"Advantages
Low latency
AMD Freesync 48/35 to 144 Hz

Cons
Requires adjustment for better image"

There is a guide in their review on how to calibrate the monitor that i can translate for you if you are intrested.

Asus VG248QE 289€ (classic recommendation for someone looking for a 144hz monitor).

https://www.alternate.nl/ASUS/24-Gaming-Monitor-VG248QE/html/product/1055184?event=search

https://azerty.nl/0-2340-602724/asus-vg248qe-3d-lcd-monitor-.html

"Plus:

144hz refresh rate

Good colour reproduction (some reviews put colours reproduction as a con "Colours aren't accurate out of the box (uneven gamma / blue overtone)" -Digitalversus

Tilt and roation adjustment

VESA compatible

Minus:

To expensive" (was priced above 300£ when this review was written)

-TechRadar

Although swedish customer reviews of the VG248QE are fairly bad (6.45 out of 10 stars with 64 reviews sampled)

Most complain about weak monitor stand, poor colors or defective units. Keep that mind.

AOC Q2577PWQ ~310€

https://www.alternate.nl/AOC/25-Monitor-Q2577PWQ/html/product/1227752?event=search

"Pros:

High brightness levels.

Great contrast.

Excellent overall colour reproduction.

Reasonable gaming performance for an IPS screen.

Flexible stand with tilt and pivot.

Cons:

Slightly pricier than many 24-inch displays.

No USB hub.

Tinny speakers."

-KitGuru ("Must Have" award)

Dell Professional P2414H 200-243€

http://www.informatique.nl/547111/dell-professional-p2414h.html

This is more of an all-around monitor but its not bad for gaming.

"Pros:

Very good all-round performance from IPS panel

Flicker free backlight, light AG coating and minimal IPS glow

Decent responsiveness and very low lag for gaming

Cons:

Missing HDMI connection

DCR function is useless in practice

Maybe should have featured USB 3.0 instead of 2.0?"
