Motherboard and CPU

Hey everyone,

 

I am thinking of upgrading my pc.

 

currently i have a sabertooth x58 motherboard

and an i7 950k cpu (which is about 5 years old give or take.)

 

Im thinking about switching to an i7 4790k (which i may go over the 6700k)

 

I am just wondering what motherboard to get. I will be doing some gaming, but mostly adobe programs (after effects and priemere pro.)

 

I suppose i would have to upgrade the ram as well if the motherboard requires ddr4? im still somewhat new to all this
