I know this is a common problem but I wanted to see what fixes (if any) that everyone came up with to resolve the issue.

The 100% usage occurs at startup, as it is supposed to , and then rises up again at random moments due to no apparent cause.

I checked the processes in Task manager, and "System and compressed memory" hogs up the disk along with the "antimalware service executable";

Does the later have anything to do with windows defender? and will the problem be taken care of if i just switch to a different antivirus program?

Please vote for Donald Trump. I am out of sitcoms to watch.

Just now, Arty said:

it happens when you were using your pc intensiveness and it is increasing resources from what i see on my system.

After a gaming session, or booting pc, or after video editing etc,

Well I wasnt doing any of those when it happened....does an SSD take care of this problem?

it probably will happen but just will go away a lot faster to the point you won't notice.

You could always try disabling all "startup" programs (temporarily) and also disabling some of the boxes in "add or remove windows features" and seeing what it is. If it fixes it then enable them one by one.

Chances are its probably something important sounding, or it could just be an msfudgeup like windows update getting stuck doing the same update over and over.

Windows 10 task manager is not really that helpful when looking at anything microsoft or windows related. They tend to plonk lots of crap under a single process. At least in my case. Safe mode might also help to find the culprit
