Old Alienware Cpu running hot??

Just wondering if my Alineware 04vwf2 Cpu is running around 85C under load. Should i be worried bout this?

what cooler are you using a stock ailenware cooler or water cooler

it is the stock water cooler

I own an i7 920 which is the same platform as your motherboard and they do run a bit hot

 

any chance you could tell me what cpu your system has

85c is pretty hot im general, you may want a higher end cooler asap. Even if the boards or cpu run hot you should try to get it lower.

i think your pump is messed up in the aio water cooler

throw out that cooler and buy a new one the hyper 212 should do fine

I'm using a i7 960 in here atm. when I'm gaming for a long periods of time i get to the high temps.

this is with a diffrent watter cooler form another alienware. I think I need to get a new cpu cooler..... Thanks TheHiddenCreeper and RedWulf.

one last question. Could the heating problem be due to how old the CPU is? it is about 5 years old.

Highly doubt it is your Processor (cpu) , like others have said  either the fan on the  AIO cooler went out and the radiator  isnt getting air , or the fins are full of dust , or the pump has gone out . i would  first check the radiator fins for  dust and clogging ,  second i would check if the fan is running ,  3  if the pump went out  you  wont hear it running. what PC is it ,,  you gave the motherboard  model number but I cant find the pc it went in. is it an area 51 ? or aurora ALX

I hear the fan and pump. The rad is as clean as i can get it. and the motherboard model number is e203413. and i believe that it is a area 51.
