PC build australia

Hi,

I'm upgrading from a laptop to desktop, need suggestions/tips.

PC is purely for playing games, i'm wanting to play some new titles(witchers 3, the division, farcry primal etc.) at nice frame rate and 1080p.

I am buying from Newegg au and pc case gear only and my budget is $1100AUD(excluding; shipping/OS/keyboard & mouse/monitor).

Q: i am new to pc building..do i need to buy any cables for this or does it come with everything?

Q: will these work together?

Yes, it'll work together and the cables come with the PSU.

However, I'd opt for an Intel build instead. Slightly over budget but it packs more performance and a better upgrade path. On top of that, better PSU.

I like the look of the intel build, but how does that cpu hold vs the amd on the more cpu bases games?

Also is the 550W psu going to be enough, don't want to be risky with the psu.

Will be getting the gpu and ram from newegg as it comes with the division also for just $2 more(after delivery).

MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G or MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G LE

LE version is slightly cheaper but i'd like to go with the faster one of the two.

HyperX FURY 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Desktop Memory Model HX421C14FBK2/8

Thanks for the fast reply :)

Better than the FX 8320, considering it has a higher IPC (more powerful cores). Can't tell you the exact performance difference since it varies across games.

About the power draw, an overclocked GTX 970 won't be taking any more than 350W from the wall under heavy load so you're definitely safe.

Out of the two, the non-LE version will be faster out of the box since it's downclocked. You can try to overclock the LE GPU to match the first one though.
