Can not get bf4 to recognize controller

I am trying to set up a controller for bf4 for flying and I had it working about 2 months ago, but since then I have gotten a wireless xbone controller. Now bf4 will not recognize a controller, even my wired one which was working before. Any advice?

A wireless xbox one controller (with receiver before you say I need that) and an official wired xbox controller.

May need to reinstall driver

I did and no luck. Windows and other games recognize them, just not bf4.

Then you might need to reinstall bf4, unless there was a patch around the time it stopped recognizing it, but a reinstall the game
