well as long as your router has a battery backup then this is already in place.... just make sure all your networking equipment needed has power and even if your modem is down all the computers will still be able to communicate locally. you dont need to set up anything other than a battery backup

Well, what happens now, is that if the internet goes down I lose connectivity between all the other devices. My router is from my ISP and is a combo unit - both router and modem. Also if I have my old modem hooked up, with a separate router behind it, and the modem goes down I still lose connectivity between the other items. This happens at my work as well as at my house. I am not losing power to my devices. Just lose connection to ISP.
