\case maybe too small? + screw problem

brtmn0

Hey sorry that this is a repost but, when i thought about it more it made more sense to actually have this question here.

Hey guys,

I recently bough the ID-waterflow 240L, it looks great abnd all, but I'm trying to install it now obn my double 120 mm top place of my case (with is a corsair spec-01 red) and it looks like it isn't going to fit (the ram looks to be in the way), can anyone confirm this isn't going to fit before I do something stupid? and well, would it be an option to remove the front fan, and put the radiator there? my other small problem is that I'm trying to screw in the mounting bracket, one side's screw fits tight but the bracket it's self is wobbly, and the other one just comes off with brackets and screw, I'm sure I'm using the correct screws. and a little bonus question for you guys: how good is the thermal paste/grease what's delivered with the cooler? I was just planning on using that.

my motherboard is an Asrock fata1ty z97 killler

My video card is an gtx 980 from msi,

i5-4690k is the processor, previously using the stock cooler.

corsair cx750m is the power supply

1) if you're afraid of it breaking your ram while installation, remove your ram first, install the radiator then place back your ram?

2) sure you can run your radiator with one fan, then might as well buy a single 120mm rad tho

3) if u meant the mounting bracket for the cpu, then you might wanna check the installation guide

4) thermal paste are pretty much the same with just 1~5 degrees celcius of difference, i wouldnt bother getting a second tube unless your temps are really high

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

1:yeah I'm going to try that, hoping that I can fit in both, if one doesn't fit I guess I can use it as a normal chassie fan for more airflow, right?

2: I already bought it so well yeah,

3: the instruction manual calls them the intel brackets, you are supposed to attach one to either side of the heatsink.

4: thanks a lot, just going to use the thermal paste what's given with the cooler.

1) yea

3) maybe check a video guide on how to install them? (though i dont think you can find any), just follow the manual to the dot, and dont over tighthen your cooler until your motherboard breaks

I've seen this done before in that case but you NEED low profile ram

my ram is the g. skill ripjaws ddr3 8 gig double kit 2x4gb @1600hz, This isn't low profile I guess? so well, if I only use one fan that's right above the cpu, I can use the other one for extra case airflow

Those pictures are either super over exposed or your lense is dirty. Kinda hard to see whats going on.

I've discovered a new propblem, it looks like it won't fit because of the drivebay, the plastic of the drivebay seems to be blocking the end bit of the radiator

cant really see whats blocking but try look for a way to remove it

if its the metal part of the cage, you would probably need to remove it forcefully lol

if its the plastic tooless thing, there should be screws like u mentioned, try looking around

I see screw like things, but they are made of plastic? I'm trying to unscrew as I'm typing this.

normally cases dont use removeable screws, they rivet things together so the only way to remove it is to either damage the rivet or cut holes in the cage xD
