So my roommates laptop is having problems from switching from speakers to mp3 jack and back. Troubleshooting doesn't work, there is no audio device driver to rollback or update to and can't seem to find the driver in the program files. :|

Anybody have a clue?  this just started after a FORCED UPDATE TO WINDOWS 10.... windows didn't even ask it just did it.....

edit: only way to get them to work is to force enable and make the speaker or jack to be default....

also halp otherwise he will buy a mac :|

Every laptop is different, I have to know the model number if you can find it. Can you read off any clues as to what model you have? Are the numbers completely gone?

poor guy, welp.... I'd recommend an HP Spectre, since he wants a mac :D
