So I recently bought a Swiftech H220 X2 and I noticed a small "buzzing noise". I thought that it was a wire on a fan but upon closer inspection I learned that it was in fact an air pocket on the actual CPU block that was vibrating.

I have tried to move the case while it is running to get the bubble out of there and when the system is under load the bubble is still there but the noise goes away.

Is there any way to get rid of this annoying bubble or am I doomed to have a buzz for as long as I have this cooler?

As always, thanks for the help :D

There´s a good chance that the air will move eventually after a while. That happens a lot of times with watercooling. Even when you try to bleed the air out 100% you´ll still have some remaining for a while. Usually it will eventually go into the res or radiator and never be much of an issue again. I don´t think you´d have any reason to be worried.

I'm not really worried about it but it is quite annoying right now... well let's hope it won't be there for very long.

Okay so I don't think that it's the bubble because that's gone and it's still making the noise. I think it may be the pump but I don't know of a way to check if it is or not. Also I don't know if there is any possible "fix" to this either. Any thoughts?

What is the pump speed?

Would that make any kind of difference?

I know. I mean what speed your pump is running?

The pump is very quiet under 2,000rpm. But very noisy at 3,000rpm.

Think about it. A Corsair H105(Asetek based) pump, which is much smaller than the Swiftech pump, runs at 1,800rpm, is enough to push one radiator and a CPU block. Unless you have more components. You can pretty much set the pump speed to 1,700 to 1,800rpm and forget it.

I have no idea nor do I have any idea as to how to find that information out.

If you do plug the PWM signal cable of the pump to the motherboard PWM fan header. You can see the pump speed in the BIOS, and adjust it if needed.

Would the optional CPU 4 pin connector work for this?

Depends on your motherboard. My mobo(also from Asus) CPU OPT is only a slave to the master CPU header. But yours may be different. Check the menu of your mobo. Or, you can use other fan header(for case fan) as long as it is(can be) PWM controlled.

Okay so it was deffinetly the pump running at a low RPM that was causing that issue. After some tricking that I had to do to get the thing to recognize that there was actually a CPU fan. I have the pump connected to one of my PWM chassis fan connectors and there is no longer that raddling. It's slightly louder than before but much less annoying :D

Thank you for all your help.
