I was just simply playing a game on steam, but after i was done, a window came up saying that my windows 7 key is invalid... I bought the OS about a year ago, and I have the key in my room, where no one can find it... I dont think this will cause any more trouble than it just did, but weird stuff has been happening on my pc, starting with a windows-automated virus removal, even though I had turned that off a long time ago...... ?

Um if your windows 7 key isnt working try windows phone activation. this happened to me when i used my OEM key on a new pc i built and the key didn't work so i needed to validate it through the windows phone activation. Just follow the robot on the phone and you should be fine.

Hope this helps :P

Check for malware or virus. They are 2 reasons for this:

1- Something has modified a system file and screwed up the activation system. You are looking at a system re-install.

2- Someone used your key on another system (key gen for example).

On absolute rare occasion, Windows Update screwed up, and broke the activation.

Check for malware and virus, if all is clean, good, reboot, and see if Windows is activated again itself, else do a phone activation. If it works for a while, and then the key fails again, then someone else has your key.

I just checked in Programs and Features, and i may have solved the problem:

1. I found program i have not seen before

2. I clicked uninstall, and when watching the details, it was being taken out of system32.
