Hey everyone!

Looking at a 17" laptop for video editing, photoshop, and very moderate gaming. Nothing high demanding.

Would you get This Dell or This HP ?

If other, please share. My budge is $1000-1100 CANADIAN before tax, and all I'm picky about is a 1080p screen.

Thanks!

Hey guys! Thanks for the suggestion. I forgot to mention I'm in Canada... Those laptops are pushing $1300-1400 in Canadian dollars.

Exceptional laptops, but just more than I need really, and way above my budget. This will only get part time use and almost entirely for video editing/photoshop.

I really think the Inspiron isn't a bad deal if your focus is on video editing. However, that HDD will definitely slow you down and the gaming performance won't be great.

no, you're right. The HDD is always replaceable. To my knowledge, a lot of 17" laptops now have a second HDD bay, so I can always put windows on a SSD, with a secondary hard drive. Can always go 15.6" with a caddy too though.

I mentioned the HDD because Adobe loves a big and fast scratch disk.

No, not necessarily

If you could stretch your budget a little bit, this would be a great option.
