In gaming it's basically just as fast as any Skylake based system, and in rendering it's like 10-15% slower. So yes, it's still very good.

will it be worth liquid cooling? or just wait til it kicks the bucket and then get a new one with liquid cooling

Is it a 3770 or a 3770k? If it's a 3770k, then yes; if it's a 3770, then no.

it should be fine for a while, your gpu is a good start, unless you want 4k gaming at ultra or something crazy like that. watercooling is not needed if you have adequate air flow in your case, even with the stock cpu fan

if i post a link to amazon try to use the LTT affiliate code to help the channel http://www.amazon.com/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=linustechtips-20

Then a stock cooler is sufficient, and the only reason to get an aftermarket cooler is for something quieter (but a $30 air cooler will do that just fine).
