Doubt about setting up ssd

Nacho Marco Segui

Hi, I am tempted to buy a 250gb 850 evo, I already have an usb with windows and my key. My question is, can i install the os on my ssd, but keep my old games on the hdd? Don't want to install my games again, it would take weeks (600 Kbps FTW!)

Yes, just remember to tell Steam/Origin/Uplay which directories have games.

I used to be quite active here.

I have lost count how many times I have done that.

What I've done is having Steam installed on my SSD, and create a library folder at my HDD. Whenever I reinstall Windows on my SSD, I install Steam by normal means and simply import that library directory into Steam.

From past experiences, telling the client the directory to the game, only worked with Steam. Any other client such as uPlay or Origin doesn't detect the game is installed even after telling it which directory the games are at.

I can confirm from personal experience that it doesn't work with uPlay and Origin.
