Hard drive failure?

So my Windows install is corrupting, I run a BIOS check on the hard drive. 10% in, failure. So I come to the community asking if anyone has seen a good deal on a solid hard drive, and if anyone can help with getting data off the old one. I use the hard drive only, no SSD, can afford around 40 dollars current is a WD Green 1.5 TB @ 4500 RPM. I will be using this for OS, games, web browsing, and possibly video editing (Not much if any)

Would it be possible to plug the hard drive into a working computer to run some diagnostics?

Also, are there any distinct clicking noises you hear coming from the HDD?

to get a better hard drive for 40$ would be somewhat impossible since the wd blue (solid as rock) is like 50$ but i would say it's worth it altough it's 1tb

Can I see a screenshot or can you post all of the raw data here? There are other values that indicative of HDD health that I would like to look at. It seems like you might want to consider getting another HDD sometime soon though.

Does the clicking sound like this?

If it sounds like that, then stop using the drive immediately if you want to increase your chances of recovering data off of it.

I recovered the data, the clicking is more like a geiger counter.

That's a normal sound for a HDD to make so I wouldn't worry about that.

However, the Current Pending Sectors count is 2, which is a little unusual, as this value should ideally be 0, but it shouldn't be that big of an issue. From looking at the data, I think that your drive should be able to operate normally, so perhaps the install of Windows you're using is broken.
