Philips Hue Lightstrips

I am thinking about going with Phillips Hue lightstrips and bulbs for my home theater, only because they are the only smart lighting solution that also sells smart led strips. Can these strips be attached to other non Phillips strips and work? And is there any other smart lighting company that provides led light strips along with standard bulbs?

Got an Android, never going back to apple again (notice I spelled apple with a lowercase and Android with an uppercase)
