Hey,

The MAXIMUS VII RANGER has an Intel Z97 chipset, and the Z170A GAMING M7 has an Intel Z170 chipset. Since these two boards both support Intel, it is relatively easy to compare them. However, they also have different form factors, so they fit in different-sized cases. From a very broad standpoint, these models serve different needs, since a Z97 board can be considered High-Complexity, and the Z170 can be considered Extreme-Complexity. That being said, the MAXIMUS VII RANGER is more expensive than the Z170A GAMING M7 at $291.00, and is alsomore expensive than the average Z97 board, which runs about $180.00.

Good Luck,

Sam
