PC will not display after changing resolution

Go to solution Solved by ToeJullar,

Alright, So the DisplayPort Cable does not work on any of the 3 Display Ports.  Thankfully I purchased the cable on amazon within the last 30 days so I should be able to get a refund.  I guess the pixelation and blurriness was due to the cable in the long run.  Thanks again for all you guys helping out and giving tips, means a lot!

No clue how I'm gonna return ship this since the closest ups to me is miles away and I'm in college with no car =/.

So not much more than 30 minutes ago I was sitting here at my system playing some black ops 3.  I alt tabbed and went to get my laundry and put it away.  I came back and alt tabbed back into my game.  Everything seemed to be weird and pixelated.  Almost like a crappy blur effect in Photoshop.  I figured maybe my roommate screwed with me so I went to change my resolution.  My res was at its normal 1080p so I decided to switch it to 1366x768 and then back to 1080p.  Upon switching to 1366 my monitor went black and displayport showed no signal.  So I waited the 10 or so seconds for it to swap back to 1080p since I have not clicked accept.  I waited maybe 2 minutes and decided to just power cycle my PC.

Annnnd pooop.  My monitor shows absolutely nothing.  No BIOS, splash screen, absolutely nothing.  When I turn the monitor on manually I'm greeted with DisplayPort No source.

Any clues what the hell is going on??

So far I've tried booting via Motherboard display output, removed and reinstalled my GPU, and cleared CMOS.  All with no luck.  Monitor works fine when connected to my laptop.

Help plz!

Thanks

Can we get some specs?

It sounds like the GPU is acting up

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Any idea about what your temps were like before this happened? Any other information you think we should know about your computer and its components?

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

My idle temps on my 4790k were 40C on the high end (they fluctuated alot when idle).  Max load was about 65C.  Cooled with a H100i.

Gpu temps were 35-40 and 60 on load.

Try unplugging your computer from the wall and waiting ~30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on again. If that doesn't work, try clearing the CMOS.

Edit: Didn't read that you already cleared the CMOS, so ignore that point (but it can't hurt to do again).

Alright I already cleared cmos, but ill do it again.  I'm gonna try and research what the Boot_Device_LED light signifies while doing that.
