My Akai RPM500s are crackling and I cannot figure out why. I have it connected to a USB audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett Solo). The problem is not the interface because headphones work fine. When I unplug the audio cables, the crackling noise persists and it's loudness does not change as I turn the volume on the speaker up and down (nor does it change when I change the Windows volume and the Focusrite volume). I'm thinking it could be the power cable. I have already sent back one speaker and I really don't want to send back another. I have pretty good ears so I can really hear the crackling. Help!

Thanks

Let me know when you run into something that you're confused about.

Just discovered something. I hear the same static in the headphones plugged into the computer and the speakers plugged into the focusrite. What could it be?

I don't know, but probably it is most likely caused by the same thing.
