Boot loop after installing more/new memory

Hey guys,
Here's the specs of the computer before I get started:
MSI h55m-p33
450w antec psu
gtx 750ti
2x2gb elpida 1333mhz
i3 550 cpu

1tb western digital hdd

320gb western digital hdd
windows 10 education edition

Recently I built my friend a computer for really cheap for gaming. All the parts are new except for the motherboard and CPU. Everything worked great, played most games on high settings with a couple needing the settings turn down alittle. He got into black ops 3, and for pc, there is a memory leak making 4gb of memory almost unplayable. He wanted to upgrade to 8, and seeing as the motherboard can take 16gb (4x4gb), I told him to just grab 8gb (2x4gb) for now as he can upgrade with another set farther on down the line. He bought Crucial ballistix 8gb (2x4bg) 1600mhz on amazon and when I put one stick in, I get stuck in a boot loop that just goes until right before the welcome screen and then resets. When I put both sticks in, I get stuck at the bios screen and can't go any further. I put the 2x2gb old sticks in, went to MSI's website, and downloaded the latest drivers for the mother board. I updated the motherboard, put them in, and the same thing is happening. Anyone have any suggestions? I highly doubt the ram is broken, and the frequency and size of the ram are most certainly supported by the motherboard so I'm kinda puzzled. When I do have 1 stick of the crucial in, I am able to go to the bios screen and see that the system is recognizing it correctly. I just don't quite know what to do. Any help at all would be great. Thanks.
