I'm building now and planning cable management with my modular EVGA 650 G2 in a Phanteks Evolv ITX. The SATA cables have 3 drive connections at the end. I'm powering a SSD and a HDD. It's a close stretch (I'm using the bottom drive slot to improve GPU airflow above) to reach both drives. Is it common to use separate SATA cables for SSD and HDD, or as long as the connectors reach both drives just use the one cable from the PSU?

Cable Management to make your build look nicer and easier to modify

Use one SATA cable lead to connect both the SSD and HDD. Since the SATA cable has three connectors, use two of them and tuck the remaining connector somewhere else. Using two SATA leads will only result in more cable clutter.

I'll use the one SATA cable. I'm not using the middle connector anyway. For my VGA cables I have to use 2 because the EVGA 980 Ti Classified has 2x8-pin connectors. I may buy 2 straight 8-pin to 8-pin VGA cables instead of using the Y-adapters with both included cables, which really causes cable clutter and blocks airflow.
