I was recently given a set of Bose Acoustimass 5 series II speakers.  I'm not sure if it's the full stock set or not, so I'll list the included pieces: 4 cube speakers, 2 smaller swivel speakers, and a bass module, all Bose brand.  I have no clue how to hook these up, but I understand that I'll need an amp to get everything set because they are passive speakers.  What amp should I get, and is it possible to achieve 5.1 surround sound with this setup?  I know there's some Bose hate out there, but I got these for free and I'm not looking to purchase a new set unless it would be cheaper than keeping these.  Thanks in advance.

First, I'm sorry.

Second, as far as I can tell, the Acoustimass 5 Series II consists of only the 2 small cube speakers (swivel?) and passive "sub" woofer. Even though you have enough speakers for 7.1, I'm not sure that it would be an optimal arrangement.

Either way, you'll need a 7.1 surround cable receiver and speaker wire to hook everything up. Instructions for the speakers can be found here: http://worldwide.bose.com/productsupport/en_us/web/am5_series2/page.html#tab=manuals_tab

Shouldn't be difficult since there is no line level involved, just stick the thing in the thing.

Thanks for the reply.  The swivel speakers I was talking about are the ones in that link too.  I've already seen the instructions, but the outputs are just speaker wire, no connectors.  As for the other 4, I'm not sure about them other than the fact that they are Bose.  The main problem is that none of these have any connectors and I'm trying to use these with my PC and TV, ideally for surround sound.  Do you have any recommendations for a good 7.1 receiver?  Is that all I would need for this?  Sorry, I really have no clue what I'm doing here.
