Scenerio: Friend has 4 RAM slots. He had 2, 4GB sticks of RAM. He bought the identical RAM, but 2, 8GB sticks. Totaling 24GB.

Before anything, his RAM was clocking to 1866 in CPU-Z. after installing the RAM, we found an issue. Now, when only the old RAM is inserted, it clocks to 1333. When only the new RAM is inserted, it clocks to 1600 in bios, but reports 1866 in windows on CPU-Z. When all RAM is inserted, filling all 4 slots, it all shows up in bios but it all clocks to 1333. Changing the DRAM frequency in bios does not change the clock rate at all.

Im not sure whats happening.
