Well lets say I can get the MSI for $159, but $130 with a rebate.. So I would like to stick around there, I have not looked into the EVGA at all. I would like to stay around that $160

For 164$ after rebate get this - https://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr93804gbd5ppdhe

performs around 45% better

Get the 380 4GB that don_svetlio posted if your budget allows it and you have a decent power supply. It's a better performing card overall.

Can you provide support to the statement that the 380 performs around 45% better than a non-reference 950?

No he can't, because it's not true.

The r9 380 is better, but only with +/- 15 frames extra in most games.

I'm almost sure he can't, that's why I'm asking him to back up his claims. Statements not backed up with proof are false. Those percentages are made out of thin air.

Both the 950 and 380 are good deals and have different advantages. It comes down to OP to pick the one for his needs and budget.

the real question is does it matter? neither of these cards are bottlenecked by the cooler and your not going to be breaking any records with stock coolers. at max its a 1-2 fps diffrence in the card you pick. evga has amazing customer support but msi cards look better.

i would encourage you to look at the r9 380 or a used r9 280.
