Currently in my rig I have the FX-6300 overclocked to a small 4.1GHz and the XFX R7850 Ghost 1gb Edition.

Recently I have been getting dead pixels flying on my screen and disappearing, colored lines showing up randomly, blacking screens, but this only happens on my main monitor.

The R7850 is over 4 years old, and I feel that it could be the issue, that it is dying. I have recently ordered a GTX 950 MSI Edition to see if that will fix my issues and give me better performance, but I'm wondering. Could it be an issue with my CPU, the FX6300 or the PCI slot on my motherboard?

I would assume hopefully NOT. And I will be testing this when I get the 950. But for now, do others agree that it is just the R7850 finally giving up and dying?

do you have another PCIe slot on your motherboard you can try the gpu in?
or im not sure but i think the fx processors have built in graphics can you try using that and see if the same thing is happening?

FX CPUs do not have any built in graphics, which makes it hard to tell if it is the CPU.

I do have another PCIe slot that I have tried the GPU in, and it still had the same issues. By some magic small chance it could still be the motherboard, but I am feeling that it is truly the card's own age.

its the A series CPUs that have integrated graphics.

but yah, try a different PCI slot and wait for your 950.
