I feel like this probably isn't the right site to ask about car speakers, but whatever.

I recently bought my first car from someone on Craigslist--A 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee. The first thing I noticed when I started driving the car is that two of the speakers are blown and it is really irritating given that all I care about in a car is good audio quality. Since I do not know anything about car speakers, I decided to ask the internet for suggestions on new speakers. While I don't have a budget per say, I would rather they be on the more inexpensive side, yet still deliver good audio.

The speaker sizes, according to the wonderful internet, are:
6x9" front door

2-1/2" tweeters

6-3/4" back door

Speakers can get a little expensive. I think a pair are around 100-150. You also need to get the correct wire harness as well, seeing as how they won't be OEM ones. Those aren't that expensive though. I would just replace everything if you have a certain budget. If not, just replace the broken ones.

I was planning on replacing everything, but my issue is that I am not familiar with reputable brands for car speakers so I am really looking for suggestions on brands or even specific speakers.

I've only every used JVC and Pioneer. I would think anything is fine other than those weird brand names. I had some Dual's in my old Grand Cherokee. I only used those because I got them as a grad gift. Those things sucked.

You don't need to worry about wire harnesses just cut of the connector and solder directly to the terminals that's how i've always done it just go down to your local car shop or whatever you guys call it pick up what you can afford remove the door panels replace the speakers and you're done simple way easier than you'd think don't worry about the tweeter they'll be fine most likely ecen the cheaper car speakers will sound heaps better than your factory installed ones.

Speakers are a get what you pay for IMOP look for a sale speakers should go on sale for about half of normal price.  With speaker sizes you are saying might have to get adapter to fit holes .  Youtube may be your friend here, if you can install yourself maybe you can spend more.  When you replace on set you will most likely want all new speakers.  Used is also a good option just make sure you only pay 25% retail.  Most times used you only pay 10% of retail.  Shopping around can make a huge difference.

Getting a solid head unit will be super important. I've owned Pioneer and Sony double din units and have experience with friends that have Kenwood and Pioneer Single din. The Pioneers are very good products. I personally think the Sony had better a better sound signature, but it was not reliable and the UI sucked. Right now I have Kicker door speakers and I would not recommend them. They are certainly better than any stock speakers, but they are not great. I was able to order them straight from Kicker through where I work, so I paid a hugely discounted price. If not for that, I would have definitely purchased a different brand. With that said, I do think their subs and amps are decent, just stay away from their doors and tweeters if you can. Your best bet is to wander around on YouTube and other car audio review sites. The car audio community is huge. Crutchfield is a great site for car audio stuff.

You can't go wrong with JVC's or Pioneer's, but make sure they are legit, a lot of fake ones on the market
